There are over 100 vacancies in New Zealand for qualified medical imaging technologists and  radiology specialists.  New Zealand Opportunities has vacancies with all levels of experience for roles from one end of New Zealand to the other.  Vacancies  include Diagnostic Radiologists, Medical Radiation Technologists, MRI, Sonographers, MRI, Mammography, CT.

Diagnostic and General Radiologists need to be eligible for Vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and have good options for senior roles in New Zealand across the medical sector.

The main prerequisite to gaining a role in New Zealand is registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board.  Qualifications from South Africa, England, USA, Canada, Australia and Ireland are accepted, other countries need further assessment, it is a paper based process and takes 6-8 weeks to achieve.  The registration application is essentially a very large and detailed cv on the board registration templates

Apart from your specialist radiologist discipline, the better way to describe the Radiology sector is by employer – public hospital, private hospital, large private medical entities supporting the industry with outsourcing from hospitals to referrals from General Practitioners and Specialists.
